Global Spectrum Facility Management, operators of the John Labatt Centre, announce today that a pre-season National Basketball Association game featuring the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors will take place at the John Labatt Centre on Tuesday, October 6th, at 7:30 p.m. This will be the second NBA pre-season game played in London at the John Labatt Centre since the building opened in October 2002. Both the 76ers and Global Spectrum are subsidiaries of Comcast-Spectacor.
October 2004 was the first time that an NBA pre-season game was played in London, which featured an outdoor Block Party, live music and interactive elements.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to bring NBA basketball to London, Ontario,” said 76ers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski. “All of our Global Spectrum entities are important to us and we look forward to adding excitement to the schedule of events that the John Labatt Centre offers the community.”
“NBA fans from London and the surrounding area have a great opportunity to catch great preseason action at the John Labatt Centre,” Director of Marketing, Chris Campbell said today, adding, “we are working on many festivities in conjunction with this event.” Additional information will be announced this summer.
