Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge 2009

LEGENDARY HOCKEY HEROES JOIN HALL OF FAMERS ANDERSON, HAWERCHUK, SHUTT, TROTTIER AND SMITH TO PLAY ONTARIO LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH TEAM FOR SPECIAL OLYMPIC

 

 
 
 

London, On - The Legendary Hockey Heroes will be coming to London for the Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge taking place 7:00pm, Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the John Labatt Centre.

*Hockey Hall of Famers Glenn Anderson, Dale Hawerchuk, Steve Shutt, Bryan Trottier and Billy Smith will join the *Legendary Hockey Heroes Bob Probert, Bernie Nicholls, Dave Ellett, Tom Fergus, Craig Muni, Igor Kravchuk, Vicky Sunohara, Geraldine Heaney and Gary Leeman to play the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Team. Referee Ron Hoggarth and Rod Black (TSN) will add to the competitive spirit, fun and antics of the game.  

The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge is designed to give fans and players alike an opportunity to celebrate a common joy of the game while at the same time giving much needed funds to worthy organizations. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket will go to the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge will also feature laser shows, Crazy Claude – the trumpeter, the Call to Recycle Tykes and the Synchronicity Skating Team as part of a memorable family fun event.

As an added feature, all fans with an Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge ticket are invited to bring their skates and participate in the LOWES Pre-Game Public Skate with some of the Legends on Thursday, February 19, 2009 between 4:00 and 5:00pm.

The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Team is pleased to welcome the Legendary Hockey Heroes. The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge is family fun entertainment appearing in over 60 cities from coast to coast in Canada.  It’s the most successful tour of its kind in North America and raises money for charity in each city it visits.
